Patterson Offers Utility Discounts to Residents 60 and Older Who Qualify for TID CARE

PATTERSON — November 2, 2026. Patterson’s published utility assistance policy says qualifying seniors aged 60 or older may receive a discount on water and garbage charges when enrolled in Turlock Irrigation District’s CARE program.

Eligibility involves two requirements

The applicant must be at least 60 and currently qualify for TID CARE, a low-income electricity discount, according to the city’s utility FAQ. The person must also be the Patterson utility account holder.

Which charges are affected

The city describes the local discount as applying to the water and garbage portions of a municipal bill; it does not say the entire utility invoice or a separately billed natural-gas account is eliminated.

How to apply

Contact the Finance Department at 209-895-8040 and ask what proof of age, CARE enrollment and household eligibility is accepted. Do not assume a discount starts automatically without applying.
